At 10:12pm EST, Thursday, February 4, 2021, Baffinland Iron Mines Corporation security personnel were alerted to the presence of a hunting party positioned on the airstrip at the Mary River Project. The hunting party also confirmed the presence of a blockade on a nearby section of the Milne Tote Road.
Baffinland respects the right to peacefully protest and continues to work with the hunting party to maintain the safety of everyone at Mary River. Communication between the hunting party and Baffinland is ongoing.
