Attendance Climbing for Yellowknife Geoscience Forum 2015!

21 November 2015

(Yellowknife, NT – November 21, 2015)  Organizers of the north’s largest conference and tradeshow – the Yellowknife Geoscience Forum – are getting very excited as registrations continue to climb past last year’s. As of today there are 750 registrants, surpassing 721 in 2014. As these are perhaps the most challenging times for the resource industry, with an overly long period of depressed prices and reductions in investment, increased attendance this year is very encouraging.

Attendees will listen to talks of their choice provided by an exciting slate of over 125 presenters. Talks will take place in the three theatres of the Capitol Theatre, under themes including Geoscience & Exploration, Diamonds, Petroleum in Canada's North, Regulatory and Policy Updates, Community Engagement & Education, Mining, Environmental Monitoring and Research, and Infrastructure and Innovation. Dr. Thomas Stachel from the University of Alberta will provide the keynote lecture to attendees on Diamond Formations in Earth’s Mantle. For the detailed schedule and list of presenters visit: www.nwtgeoscience.ca/schedule.

The annual free public event is the Charles Camsell Lecture, which features Parks Canada’s Jonathan Moore speaking on The Search for Franklin’s Lost Ships and the Discovery of HMS Erebus. The event will take place at Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre on November 24 at 7:30PM.

Tradeshow: Ninety five Exhibitors will show off their wares at the Tradeshow being held at the Ed Jeske arena in the Yellowknife Multiplex. And there will be some unique exhibits in the large facility this year! Tradeshow registrations are almost full, but there is still a bit of room. Contact the conference coordinator at conference@miningnorth.com. We also have a free time for the public to attend the Tradeshow on Thursday morning from 10AM until noon.

Attendance is climbing but we still have room. Add your name by registering HERE. Tell your friends and colleagues about the event. The more the merrier!

Workshops: There are four informative workshops, with three already sold out. There is room available in Surficial Geology Applied to Drift Exploration and to register, click here.

Sponsorships:  Sponsorships help make the event possible and we very much value and appreciate our many sponsors. For a current List of Sponsors, click here.
