Distinguished Speaker Luncheon – Bernd Christmas, Nov 27

The Aboriginal Participation Committee of the NWT & Nunavut Chamber of Mines, in partnership with the NWT Chamber of Commerce and the Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce, are pleased to host Distinguished Speaker, Bernd Christmas at a luncheon in Yellowknife on November 27.

Bernd Christmas is a partner in the Aboriginal Law Practice of Cassels Brock and a proud member of the Mi’kmaq community of Membertou, Nova Scotia. As former CEO of the Membertou Band and the Corporate Division, Bernd grew the corporation from 20 to 700 employees and from $4 million to more than $100 million annually over a 10 year period.

Bernd’s practice is focussed on Indigenous economic development. He is a former member of the National Aboriginal Economic Development Board and of the executive committee organizing the Governor General’s Conference on Leadership and Diversity. Bernd has been a Director of the CBC and Keltic Petrochemicals Inc., and is currently on the board of Investors Group and the Indigenous charity Outside Looking In. Proceeds from the luncheon will go to the Outside Looking In program being launched in N'dilo, the community of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation in Yellowknife.
